Palate / Gusto: |
This is a medium-bodied Arneis, with rich flavours of apples mingling well with pears and cream, and a twist of almond. The acidity is well balanced with the fruit, and the malolactic fermentation gives great smoothness and structure to the wine, leading to a warm, lingering finish. |

Vineyard / Vigneto: |
Fruit for the 2002 Sorilaria comes from the Sorilaria Vineyard in the commune of Monticello d'Alba. Situated at an altitude of around 280m, the 21-year-old vines grow in chalky clay soil, and are trained in the classic Guyot system, producing an average of 8 Tonnes/ha. The vineyard is immaculate with great care and attention to detail shown by the fastidious grower Luigi Bertini. Just before harvest the grapes make a spectacular sight hanging in golden bunches at regular intervals along the vine. |

Wine making / Vinificazione: |
The grapes for the 2002 Sorilaria were handpicked, and pressed in modern pneumatic presses. 15% of the must was fermented in new French oak barriques, with the remaining 85% being cool fermented in stainless steel. |
