Piemonte Barbera

Colour / Colore:

Ruby-garnet.

Aroma / Profumo:

Bright plummy fruit with savoury overtones.

Palate / Gusto:

Light to medium weight red with attractive up-front forest of fruit flavours, leading to a savoury finish.

Region / Zona:

The Monferrato hills in the south of the province of Asti, Piemonte. South West aspects at altitudes between 250 and 400m. Limestone-clay soil.

Vineyard / Vigneto:

Piemonte low Guyot trellis. Planting density 4,000-4,500 vines/ha.

Wine making / Vinificazione:

5,300 Lt/ha. The fruit was hand harvested from 3rd to 10th October. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at 25-30° C. using BDX yeast. Pressed when dry and racked to stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation. The clear wine was then matured for 12 months in stainless steel tanks.
