Colour / Colore:

Bright red.

Aroma / Profumo:

Herby, savoury, earthy.

Palate / Gusto:

Light prickle leads into attractive, salt-raspberry fruit and an unexpectedly refreshing and firm finish.

Region / Zona:

The Monferrato hills in the south of the province of Asti, Piemonte. South West aspects at altitudes between 250 and 400m. Limestone-clay soil.

Vineyard / Vigneto:

Piemonte low Guyot trellis. Planting density 4,000-4,500 vines/ha.

Wine making / Vinificazione:

6,000 Lt/ha. The fruit was hand harvested from 20th to 24th September. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at 25-30°C using BDX yeast. Pressed when some residual sugar remained and secondary fermentation in a pressurised tank. This was followed by 5 months ageing prior to bottling preparation.
