Gavi Bricco

Colour / Colore:

Straw.

Aroma / Profumo:

Ripe pears and nuances of peach.

Palate / Gusto:

Great minerality, broad ripe texture and intense pear fruit on the palate. Opulent, powerful and perfectly in balance.

Region / Zona:

Small strip of land around the town of Gavi in Piemonte region. South aspects at altitudes between 230 and 250 m. Chalky mineral soil.

Vineyard / Vigneto:

Piemonte low Guyot trellis. Average age of vines 35 years. Planting density 4,000-4,500 vines/ha.

Wine making / Vinificazione:

6,600 Lt/ha. The fruit was hand harvested from 26th September, the grapes being taken only from the crown, or bricco, of the hill. They were pressed as whole bunches in a pneumatic press before being fermented for one month, 70% in stainless steel at a low temperature and the remaining 30% in French new oak.
