Dolcetto d'Asti

Colour / Colore:

Bright cherry red.

Aroma / Profumo:

Elderberries, peppered strawberry.

Palate / Gusto:

Fresh, juicy red berry fruits. A light-bodied, easy drinking wine with a lively finish making it perfect for light pasta dishes.

Region / Zona:

The Monferrato hills in the south of the province of Asti, Piemonte. South West aspects at altitudes between 250 and 400m. Limestone-clay soil.

Vineyard / Vigneto:

Piemonte low Guyot trellis. Planting density 4,000-4,500 vines/ha.

Wine making / Vinificazione:

6,000 Lt/ha. The fruit was hand harvested from 20th to 24th September. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at 25-30°C using BDX yeast. Pressed when dry and racked to stainless steel tank for malolactic fermentation and 5 months ageing prior to bottling preparation.
