Dolcetto d'Asti

Colour / Colore:

Vibrant purple red.

Aroma / Profumo:

Ripe plums, cherry and raspberry aromas.

Palate / Gusto:

Medium bodied, with some richness from dark fruit flavours balanced by cherry notes. The tannins are moderate giving good mouth-feel and length.

Region / Zona:

The Monferrato hills in the South of the Province of Asti, Piemonte. South West aspects at altitudes between 250 and 400 m. Limestone-clay soil.

Vineyard / Vigneto:

Piemonte low Guyot trellis. Average age of vines 25 years. Planting density 4,000-4,500 vines/ha.

Wine making / Vinificazione:

6,000 Lt/ha. The fruit was hand harvested from 20th to 24th September. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at 25-30°C using BDX yeast. Pressed when dry and racked to stainless steel tank for malolactic fermentation and 5 months ageing prior to bottling preparation.
